Óbidos is one of the most photogenic small towns in Portugal: a fully walled medieval village with the Pousada de Óbidos installed inside the castle, the Casa das Senhoras Rainhas just outside the main gate and a cluster of boutique stays inside the walls. The historic centre is largely pedestrian and the cobblestone access requires a chauffeur who knows the late-evening drop-off etiquette and the closest legal stop to your accommodation.
