    3+ nights to unwind

Comporta is what the Algarve looked like fifty years ago: a wide white-sand coast lined with cork oaks and umbrella pines, an almost-empty horizon, and a small handful of beach restaurants that close when the season ends. The reason it has stayed quiet is logistics — there is no airport nearby, no fast train, and the last 30 minutes of the drive are slow on purpose. That is exactly what we are good at solving. We move guests in and out of Comporta in proper black sedans with English-speaking drivers, time the airport pickup to the actual baggage-belt drop, and adapt the route on the day depending on traffic on the 25 de Abril bridge. Long-distance combinations — Lisbon → Comporta → Évora or Comporta → Algarve in a single discreet day — are something we plan often.

Getting to and from Comporta

There is no airport in Comporta. From Lisbon you cross the 25 de Abril bridge and follow the A2 south, then turn off at Alcácer do Sal. From Faro the drive is roughly two and a half hours by road. We do both routes daily.

Private transfer is almost always the right answer here: taxis are scarce, ride-hailing apps are unreliable in low season, and pine-forest GPS shortcuts catch out first-timers in the dark. A pre-booked car with a driver who knows the unmarked turns is, frankly, the difference between arriving relaxed and arriving annoyed.

Beyond the beach

Once you settle in, the real Comporta begins. We coordinate quiet visits to local rice producers, a tasting at one of the small wine estates around Melides, low-tide horseback rides on Pego beach, and birdwatching boat trips up the Sado estuary to see resident dolphins.

We do not try to fill the day. Most guests want long lunches and quiet drop-offs at sunset; we plan around that.

A tailor-made approach

Comporta is rarely a single destination. Most of our requests involve combining it with another stop — a day in Lisbon, a wine route through the Alentejo, or a longer southbound drive into the Algarve.

Because distances are long and traffic is unpredictable, we price these journeys individually. Request a quote and we will reply with a clear, all-inclusive number within a few hours.

Frequently asked

  • How long is the drive from Lisbon Airport to Comporta?+

Typically 1h15 to 1h45 depending on traffic over the 25 de Abril bridge. We time the pickup to your real arrival, not your scheduled landing.

  • Is there a train or bus to Comporta?+

No direct rail or comfortable bus service. The practical options are a private transfer or a rental car. Most guests prefer the private transfer because parking, refuelling and navigating the back roads at night is more hassle than it sounds.

  • Can the same driver take us to the Algarve afterwards?+

Yes. Multi-day, multi-destination journeys are common for us. Request a quote with your full itinerary and we will plan it with one driver throughout.

  • Do you accept short-notice / same-day bookings to Comporta?+

When we have a car free, yes — WhatsApp is the fastest channel. For last-minute and night bookings we reply within minutes during operating hours.

  • Why is the price not fixed online?+

Comporta is long-distance and the road varies a lot with traffic. Quoting upfront after a short message gives you a clear, all-inclusive number without unpleasant surprises.

  • Are pets allowed in the vehicle?+

Yes, on request. Mention it in your quote and we will assign a pet-friendly vehicle and bring a clean cover for the back seat.
