Aveiro Guided Tour with Moliceiro Cruise - Half Day

After the meeting point , we'll board our minibus and head towards the coastal city of Aveiro. On the way, the guide will share with you information about the history, development and cultural facts of Portugal's heritage . Once in Aveiro, we'll start the visit with a guided tour of the city center , passing by stunning and charming Art Nouveau residences , the main historic streets surrounding the canals, the fish market and Aveiro Cathedral, a Baroque-style monument declared a National Monument . You'll realize that it really is a special city , where ancient and modern combine in an impressive way. Did you know that Aveiro is a member of the “ Réseau Art Nouveau Network ”, along with Barcelona, Brussels, Budapest, Glasgow, Helsinki and Havana? During the tour, our guide will teach you more about the history and traditions of Aveiro : a fishing village, founded on the p roduction and trade of salt , among other curiosities. One of the highlights of this journey is the 45-minute boat trip on a classic Moliceiro ( traditional boat ) through the city's stunning canals. Relax and enjoy the scenery on this traditional boat, which was once used to collect seagrass in the lagoon. The last stop is Costa Nova beach , a spectacular white sand beach famous for its colorful houses , typically painted with vertical stripes. Built by fishermen as shelters and equipment storage, the houses have now been converted into typical vacation homes . We'll return to the port, to where we disembarked , at around 1pm if you've chosen the morning tour, or around 6pm if you've opted for the afternoon tour. Read more
